You may be thinking of inner thigh liposuction if you’ve got extra stubborn fat deposits in your inner thighs. You should know though that not everyone can choose to have inner thigh liposuction. Read on to learn if you are a good candidate for the procedure or if you are up to the challenge of surgery and recovery.

Inner Thigh Cellulite

The kind of fats subjected to inner thigh liposuction is often known as cellulite. Cellulite are fat deposits in the skin’s connective tissues that spill over and make the skin look rippled, dimpled or even wrinkled. Although exercise and diet may help a bit in the toning of muscles and the flushing out of toxins, they may not be able to completely remove cellulite. The sad fact is, most women are predisposed to have the condition because of the female biological skin structure. Even thin women may have evidence of cellulite deposits that become apparent when the skin and flesh are pinched.

Inner Thigh Liposuction

Inner thigh cellulite can be as psychologically devastating as outer thigh cellulite. Fats in your inner thigh can rub irritatingly as you go about your usual tasks and they basically ruin the shape, form and silhouette of your thighs. When you are wearing shorts or a bikini, there is just no hiding your inner thigh fat. There is also a big chance that if you have inner thigh cellulite then it is likely that you also have or may develop cellulite in your entire thigh that can extend down to your inner knees. The unsightly appearance and the limiting effects of cellulite have prompted many women to turn to inner thigh liposuction.

The Procedure

As with all other forms of liposuction, inner thigh liposuction involves making small cuts where a cannula can be inserted. The cannula will then be pushed, pulled and moved around to suction the fat deposits. There is a possibility though that contour irregularities may result depending on the kind and quality of the cannula. It is believed that cannulas with smaller diameters be used to reduce irregularities. Even with a smaller cannula though, irregularities can still happen due to tissue damage if your doctor is not careful.

Local anesthesia is often advisable for liposuction procedures. The use of general anesthesia for inner thigh liposuction however has not been unknown. This option however may require a patient to lie on her back which may result in both improper oxygen delivery and fat suction.

Inner thigh liposuction is not a procedure for everybody. Older people or people with skins that are not elastic may not benefit from the procedure. The lack of skin elasticity will result in a far worse cellulite condition or in wrinkled skin that is even more unsightly to look at. Older patients and people with saggy skin should therefore look for alternatives to inner thigh liposuction.

Individuals generally recover faster from inner thigh liposuction than from thigh lifts. The fact stands though that you would still have to bear a couple of days or weeks of fluid drainage, swelling, bruising and pain. You may also have to wear a compression garment for some time. Results of the procedure will not be completely evident until after six months.
